Creating a peaceful, comforting, and loving transition

Softest Night provides End of Life Doula Care during your most difficult time

About me

Hello, I'm Laura Rhea

I am a compassionate and devoted End of Life Doula with a deep commitment to supporting individuals and their loved ones through the tender journey at the end of life.

As a child, I watched my Dad, a social worker, start the local hospice in our rural county of Texas. That experience shaped my understanding of the profound impact that compassionate care can have during life's most challenging transitions.

With a heart-centered approach, I am here to create a comforting and nurturing space for individuals and their families, offering guidance, education, and physical, emotional, mental and spiritual support throughout the dying journey.

Why “Softest Night”?

The name “Softest Night” is a spin on a classic Mary Oliver poem:

“Oh, softest of mornings, how shall I break this?
How shall I move away from the snail, and the flowers?
How shall I go on, with my introspective and ambitious life?”

She encourages us to bring attentiveness and thoughtfulness, curiosity and care to our day.

What if we did the same at the end of our life?
